Our pastoral approach is woven into daily school life. It is proactive, relational and growth-focused. We aim to develop confident, resilient learners who are equipped to manage challenge, build positive relationships and thrive within a supportive community.
Pastoral care is part of every teacher’s role. From warm welcome routines at the start of the day to attentive supervision at breaktimes, staff actively nurture children’s wellbeing. Class teachers know their pupils well and build strong, trusting relationships that enable early identification of need and personalised support.
How do we identify children in need of support?
We take a proactive, evidence-informed approach to pastoral care. Regular wellbeing check-ins allow us to understand how children feel about school, friendships and learning. These conversations help us notice early signs of concern and respond with appropriate, tailored support.
We don’t wait for problems to emerge — we look for strengths to build on.
If concerns do arise, our pastoral team collaborates with teachers, parents and, where appropriate, external professionals to provide consistent, compassionate support.
