Sustainability

At Victory Heights Primary – City of Arabia, we believe every child has a part to play in creating a more sustainable future.

At Victory Heights Primary – City of Arabia, we believe every child has a part to play in creating a more sustainable future.

Growing a Greener Future, Together

Sustainability is more than something we teach; it's something we put into action. Through recycling initiatives, biodiversity projects, planting and community activities, we encourage children to make positive choices, care for their environment and understand how even small actions can make a big difference.

Our aim is to nurture a generation of curious, responsible and environmentally conscious young people.

Sustainability in Action

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We encourage children to think carefully about waste and the resources we use. Through recycling initiatives and our Paper Recycling Box Competition, pupils discover how everyday materials can be reused and transformed into something new.

Growing a Greener School

We want our children to develop a connection with nature right here at school. Through planting and caring for greenery around our grounds, pupils learn about plants, habitats and the importance of protecting our natural environment.

Discovering Biodiversity

Our Community BioBlitz

Our community BioBlitz invites children, families and staff to become nature detectives! Using the Seek by iNaturalist app, participants explore their surroundings, identifying and recording plants, insects, birds and other wildlife.

It's a wonderful opportunity to discover the biodiversity around us and develop a greater appreciation for the natural worl

Sustainability Ambassadors

Our Sustainability Ambassadors are enthusiastic pupil leaders who champion environmental awareness throughout the school. They help promote initiatives, encourage their peers to get involved and inspire positive changes in everyday school life.

We believe children should be at the heart of creating a more sustainable future.

Taking Action Together

Beach Clean-Ups

Throughout the year, we will organise beach clean-ups, giving children and families the opportunity to take practical action to protect our local coastline and marine environment. These experiences help pupils understand the impact of pollution and the importance of looking after the natural world around us.

Conservation & Sustainability Week

A highlight of our sustainability calendar, Conservation and Sustainability Week brings the whole school together through fun, interactive and engaging activities. From creative challenges to environmental investigations, pupils explore how we can take better care of our school, our local environment and our planet.

It's a chance to learn, get involved and discover that making a difference can be both meaningful and fun!

Creativity and Sustainability

We encourage children to think creatively about environmental challenges. From designing with recycled materials to finding imaginative ways to reuse everyday items, pupils learn that sustainability is also about innovation, problem-solving and new ideas.

A Community Effort

Creating a more sustainable future is something we can all contribute to. Through projects such as VHinted Clothes Swap, our BioBlitz, beach clean-ups and recycling initiatives, we bring children, families and staff together with a shared purpose.

We welcome ideas, enthusiasm and involvement from our whole community as we continue to develop our sustainability journey.

Looking Ahead

Our sustainability journey is continually evolving. We look forward to developing new opportunities to enhance biodiversity, care for our outdoor spaces, reduce waste and empower children to make a difference. We are keen to implement Bee Hives, a composting programme and a Zen Garden here at Victory Heights.

Together we will grow.

Together, we can make a difference – one small action at a time.
